I hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend! I spent my weekend photographing another lovely wedding, hanging with family and painting our new house! After a long weekend filled with goodness, I’m excited to share my favorites from the gorgeous wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Usher!
Katelynn and Greg quite ironically got married at Ushers Ferry Historic Village in Cedar Rapids. While the name might have been an initial draw for them, my-oh-my, it’s gorgeous charm sealed the deal! What a treat it was to photograph personalities as bright as these two at such a beautiful Iowa gem!
I was astounded by Greg and Katelynn’s perfect blend of smarts and wit. As a lawyer, I’m sure Greg has his serious moments, but when not on the job, he’s hilarious! Katelynn, a super talented electrical engineer, keeps right up with him, laughing all the way. I thoroughly enjoyed laughing all day with these two!!
Their reception was nothing short of dreamy with design and planning by Bright DeSigns and dozens upon dozens of dusty pink roses. Sigh! Katelynn and Greg added their own flair with a donut bar in lieu of wedding cake. This fun pair even split a long-john instead of the traditional first-cut cake. I must add that Greg ended up with way more cream filling on his face!
Greg and Katelynn, thank you for filling your day with joy. It’s couples like you that remind me why I have the best job ever!
