Iowa City Old Capitol Engagement Session

Happy Monday, Friend! Every four years we get one extra day (aka Leap Day!). With that extra day comes a little pressure to use the time well. This year, I think I really did! I got to spend the sun-filled evening with Canaan and Jordan as we strolled around Iowa city for their Old Capitol engagement session! We were blessed with the most gorgeous last day of February, which rarely happens! I’m so glad it did though! 🙂

We originally planned for Jordan and Canaan’s engagement session to take place in late January, but decided to postpone. I’m so happy we did! No way would we have had such high winter temps during an Iowa January!

While we walked between locations during their session, I got to hear snippets of their love story. With full smiles, Jordan and Canaan took turns explaining how even though they went to different schools, they knew of each other during high school. They initially went to different colleges, but during one of Canaan’s visits to Iowa City, they decided to go out together! Being together felt so natural for them. They never stopped talking after that night!

Not long ago, after a nice dinner in Iowa City, Canaan took Jordan to a beautiful spot overlooking the river. There he proposed and she was completely surprised! Afterwards they celebrated with their friends and family who had been waiting eagerly to congratulate them!

Jordan and Canaan, thank you for your flexibility! I’m so glad we waited a bit for your session because it was totally worth it! Hearing your story as we walked around was so much fun! You made everything about your session look absolutely effortless! I can’t wait to be part of the celebration with your friends and family as they celebrate your marriage!!
