Iowa City Johnson County Wedding

February 20, 2018

Tears of joy welled in her eyes as she slid the ring onto his finger. Her voice caught as she recited the words. Happiness filled the room. They never intended to marry. But, as their relationship grew, they couldn’t imagine life any other way.

Alex caught Brian’s attention during surgery at the hospital where she worked. “He knew from the first time I walked in that we were meant for each other.” He pursued her; asking many times if she would go out with him. She did her best to brush him off. Then, one day she decided to give him a little of her time. They talked on the phone that day for 5 hours. Their future changed forever. After that long phone call, this sweet pair became inseparable.

An intimate ceremony was the perfect celebration. Friends and family filled the room; ready to watch Brian and Alex fulfill their commitment to each other. I felt the excitement in the air. What a special moment this was! Their ceremony was followed by hugs and tender moments from all who attended.

Icy February winds blew strong, but the chilling temps didn’t stop us! Despite the number on the thermometer, we were able to capture the absolute sweetest moments between this pair and their family! Alex paired the perfect colors for a February wedding: burgundy, teal and blush. The Johnson County Courthouse in Iowa City made for the most gorgeous backdrop.

Brian and Alex, thank you for allowing me to take part in your special day! Your joy lit up the room like nothing else. I’m so excited for you to enter this journey of marriage together!
