Dreamy Fossil Gorge Iowa Engagement

I’m so excited I get to share this engagement session with you today! It was seriously SO fun!! You might recognize Kelsey and Skylar from their winter tree farm engagement session we did in December. Since that day was so cold, we decided to keep it short and finish up their engagement session when the weather warmed up! Their second, dreamy engagement session at the Devonian Fossil Gorge in Iowa City is one of my new all-time favorites!

The second these two stepped out of the car, they blew me away! Not only are they one incredibly good-looking couple, but they also had the most perfect coordinating outfits! I was so excited when Kelsey told me her outfit inspiration came from my style guide! Beyond any outfit choice, Skylar and Kelsey have an amazing chemistry! They’re so cute together! Even though they both proclaim to be “super awkward,” — I don’t buy it! Every click of my shutter had me more and more in love!

This session is also one of my new faves because it’s the first time Joey (my hubby!) has ever seen me do my work! He’s been interested in shooting with me (which, I love!), so I thought it would be great for him to get some practice with a real-life couple! I talk a lot about Joey in my posts, but Kelsey and Skylar are the first of my brides and grooms to meet him! He got a little practice in and I got a few engagement session behind the scenes I don’t normally get! It was a fun “date” night together!

Kelsey and Skylar, from the day I met you guys for coffee, I knew I was going to love serving you! You are both so fun to be around and you make love look effortless. I’m honored to be your wedding photographer! I can’t believe we’re less than one month away from celebrating!
