Ashton Hill Farm Cedar Rapids Iowa Wedding Venue

You guys, I just had a dream come true! I finally got to take a visit to one of the most gorgeous wedding venues in all of Iowa — Ashton Hill Farm Cedar Rapids! I’ve been drooling over the space via social media for years, but with a wedding there this September, I couldn’t wait to see the venue and meet the Ashton Hill team in person!

Megan Knatz, owner of Ashton Hill, was sweet as can be! When I asked her about her vision for Ashton Hill Cedar Rapids — as well as their newest venue Ashton Hill Galena — she summed it up perfectly! “We wanted to create a neutral space for every style from rustic to modern without distractions.” I couldn’t agree more!

I’m totally in love with their choice for clean, white walls and cool concrete floors all topped with modern black accents (like their unique light fixtures!)! Rustic wooden cross back reception chairs give the perfect amount of texture! I’m drooling over these style choices not only because they make for the perfect neutral venue, but also because I really wish I could incorporate them all into my house!

Indoor or Outdoor Ceremony

Whether you’ve been dreaming of an outdoor ceremony all your life, or prefer to keep your ceremony climate controlled — Ashton Hill’s got you covered! Indoor ceremonies take place in the reception area with a breathtaking view of their floor-to-ceiling west-facing windows! As a photographer, I’m all about that beautiful natural light and these windows certainly fill the space with it!

Planning your ceremony outdoors? You’ll feel totally immersed in nature! Ashton Hill’s outdoor ceremony site overlooks a beautiful wildflower field. It not only makes for a beautiful ceremony backdrop, but also the PERFECT location for a few husband and wife sunset portraits!

Bridal Suite

Picture this: you’re getting ready for your wedding day. You’ve got your favorite girls all around you. The finishing touches are getting placed on your hair and makeup. You’re about to slip in to the dress of your dreams. ALL at your wedding venue location in the most perfect (white!) bridal suite! Ashton Hill’s bridal suite is complete with stylish (neutral!) furniture, mirrors and your own private bathroom! It’s a getting ready room made in heaven!

And they didn’t forget the guys! While the girls are busy getting those final perfect touches on their make up, your guys are completely taken care of with their own space to hang out in! What I love most about this is that everyone is in the SAME location! It’s not very often that gets to happen on a wedding day. It’ll make your day flow so much smoother!

Bonus Space – The Loft!

The loft is probably one of my favorite spots in Ashton Hill Cedar Rapids. The loft is a perfect cozy space for whatever you want to use it for! Whether your relatives want to kick back and relax for a bit or you want your guests to have somewhere comfy to go, that’s up to you! The loft has a prime view overlooking the entire reception area that is a definite must-have photo!

I’m so excited to shoot at Ashton Hill this fall! It’s the absolute perfect venue for all wedding styles. You’re gonna love how everything just POPS off those white walls, letting your own unique personality shine through!
