Burgundy Eastern Iowa Fall Wedding

As the winds pick up yet again here in Eastern Iowa, I have another beautiful wedding to share with you! Cole and Carli’s Burgundy Eastern Iowa Fall Wedding has been well worth the wait. I’ve been waiting for their wedding for TWO years now! That sounds like such a long time. But, it feels like just yesterday I met Carli and Cole two Octobers ago over a mocha at Starbucks.

They had just gotten engaged. Their minds fresh with the story. We sat in that little coffee shop and talked endlessly about all they had planned. We met a year ago in October (again!), for their Backbone State Park engagement session. October seems to be our thing, and it’s quickly becoming my favorite month!

On a windy fall day this October in North East Iowa, Carli, Cole, their wedding party and parents gathered in the warmth of Cole’s parent’s house to get ready for the day. When it came time to head out into the brisk wind for portratis, these two braved the cold as if it were 75° with a warm southern breeze! I cuddled up in my winter parka. Meanwhile, Carli and Cole looked amazingly warm in each other’s company.

Their reception was festively lined with carved out pumpkins (all carved by hand!), filled with beautiful flowers from Jen at Flowers on Main. The bright oranges, pinks and burgundys added a beautiful pop of color in the Henderson Event Center.

Cole and Carli, thank you for trusting me all the way back to when we first met! I’m honored to be your wedding photographer! I’m thankful for the time I’ve gotten to know you guys. You’ve been waiting for this day for a long time now. It’s really true: one of life’s sweetest gifts is being married to your best friend. I’m so excited for you as you start your marriage together! I wish you two all the best!
