Dream Dubuque Sunset Engagement Session

Time sure flies when you’re having fun! Now that my wedding season is slowing down (it’s getting cold out! brr), I’ve been catching up on all the household chores I’ve been putting off for the last few months. Like finish painting our kitchen that I started in August. Oops! In between baby snuggles and housework, my October has been filled with beautiful engagement sessions. I LOVE it! And I must say, Kate and Jesse’s sunset engagement session in Dubuque, Iowa is quickly becoming one of my new favorites!

Seriously, these two are sweet as pie. I had the best time exploring Dubuque with them! They showed me some of the most beautiful views! Their only request for their engagement session was that it be in Dubuque. Jesse grew up there and Kate lived there for a while before they moved out-of-state.

I instantly fell in love with the historic downtown along the Mississippi River. It’s every photographer’s brick-wall dream! We ventured from the downtown to the gorgeous walk along the river. As the sun sank lower, I got more and more excited with every shot I captured! Kate and Jesse were absolutely flawless.

They both were dressed to impress! Kate picked out the most stunning outfits. I love the way she paired Jesse’s light blue button-up with both her dark blue and white dresses! They were absolutely perfect. When she read my suggestion of bringing a bouquet as an accessory (neither of us are super into accessorizing!), she knew that would be the perfect addition to their session! Her beautiful orange-toned bouquet was composed of flowers from her mother’s garden. What a fun way to include her mom! I love everything Kate planned so much, I was barely able to pick a few favorites for this post! These two just look absolutely stunning in every shot!

Jesse and Kate, can we hang out again? I had so much fun with you guys! I feel as if I’ve know you so much longer than I have. Thank you for being genuine and kind. I absolutely loved exploring the city you’ve both called home!
