Fall Engagement Session at Water Works in Des Moines

As a wedding photographer, I love getting a chance to meet my couples in-person before their wedding day. While I do virtually meet each couple before we make everything official, it’s not quite the same as getting to meet face-to-face. So, when my couples say yes to an engagement session, it’s really a fun time to get to know each other before we spend your whole wedding day together.

Before Kaitlyn and Lee’s engagement session at Water Works Park in Des Moines, Kaitlyn told me how much she loves having photos taken. They’ve previously had photos taken together, so I wanted this session to offer them something different that felt really true to who they are.

During engagement sessions, I love to get my couples moving! We do lots of walking because natural, easy movement sets us up for organic interactions.

Kaitlyn and Lee so easily expressed their affection for each other. We had fun along the way as we walked around the park and soaked in the sun-drenched evening.

I’m eagerly awaiting their wedding day next year! I can’t wait to capture the full day with them with all their favorite people in one place.
