Iowa Country Church Wedding

In the quiet Iowa countryside, along a narrow gravel road, stands the beautiful, historic St. Francis Church. Its tall white steeple peeks out from the surround miles and miles of cornfields. It was in that quaint 100+ year old country church that Shane and Laura’s marriage story began.

It was the most perfect setting for their wedding. Just miles from Laura’s childhood home, nestled in the heart and beauty of Iowa — nothing could be more peaceful. Laura and Shane both grew up on farms and now both work for top agricultural companies. So, getting married in the gorgeous countryside was kind of a no-brainer for them!

ALL of their closest family and friends squeezed into the antique wooden pews of the historic church to witness the start of married life for these two. I love when I get to capture something that is totally unique and special to my brides and grooms. This wedding was definitely that for Shane and Laura!

I absolutely had to pull them out of their Jeusp Country Club reception for a few moments of husband and wife photos. That time of the day is always my (and my couples’!) favorite time together. The stress is over and we got to hop on golf carts and take a little cruise through the drizzle to capture some fairy-tale worthy photos underneath a weeping willow on the course. It was magical. Laura looks like a real life princess in her sparkly ballgown!

Laura and Shane, you guys are seriously the chillest, coolest couple! You didn’t for a second let anything (even a little rain) dampen your day! I had the best time getting to know you and your family. You’ve got an amazing support system and so many people in your life to love on you. That in itself is truly amazing! I wish you two the absolute best! Marriage is amazing, as I’m sure you already know!
